We’ve all heard of the term “cyber” or “cyber liability” and regularly read about the scary things going on in that world. But what does invoice manipulation, payment re-routing, and funds transfer fraud all have in common? They are all examples of what contractors are dealing with right now in the cyber world, that don’t have a lot to do with their computer systems. Cyber goes much further than computer networks, multi-factor authentication, social engineering, and extortion. Many companies don’t think they have cyber exposure because they don’t use a lot of technology or they’re a small company that no one will target. Join us for a contractors-only special into the cyber world on why we need to expand our thinking on what cyber really means and ways that you can protect yourself, your customers, your employees, and ultimately the future of your company from this $6 Trillion a year industry called cybercrime.

Presented By:  Darren Faye

Darren Faye has been a broker in the insurance industry for over 25 years.  He is an Executive Vice President at AssuredPartners.  AssuredPartners’ tag line is #PowerThroughPartnership and this resonates strongly with him.  He works with clients and producers all over the world helping them identify vulnerabilities in their systems, networks, and operations with the goal of reducing the likelihood of a breach or hack resulting in the loss of intellectual property, assets, and most importantly profits.   He has developed a Cyber Hygiene Baseline Assessment (NIST-based) which takes a company through a cyber risk audit and identifies areas that need more attention to reduce exposures.  In addition, he holds strong relationships on the carrier side helping with risk transfer and their adaptation to the ever-changing landscape.  He has been certified through Carnegie Mellon’s Heinz College CCIC program and holds a BSIT degree with a focus on information security.  Since 95% of all cyber security incidents involve human error, his primary goal is to educate employees and owners on how to reduce and prevent these breaches which compromised over 5 billion records last year alone.  With cyber claims up over 600% year-over-year, it comes down controls, policies, and people to take back our systems and bankrupt the hackers.
