This presentation will address material unavailability, delivery delay, and price escalation and how subcontractors can maintain some control over the things they can’t control. The presentation will examine pertinent contract provisions and provide some resources and best practices subcontractors can implement on projects to protect against delay and price increases outside their control. 

Presented By: Lee Brumitt

Lee Brumitt is a director and shareholder with Dysart Taylor Cotter McMonigle & Brumitt, P.C., a law firm in Kansas City, MO, where he has practiced law since 1984. His law practice focuses on construction law and litigation. Mr. Brumitt is a regular advocate for subcontractors, suppliers, and specialty contractors and also represents owners and design professionals on public, commercial and residential projects. He has served as the Chair of the ASA’s Attorneys' Council and is general counsel for the Kansas City Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association. Lee is a frequent presenter to the KCASA, the Estimating Academy, the Builders Association, and other industry trade groups, and shares experiences and lessons learned in the construction trenches on his blog, Mo-Kan Construction Law.
